Spinnaker Run

Having arrived in a force 8 Friday night, the wind gradually faded to a force 2 to 3 by Sunday morning and we headed out to sea, with sufficient crew to finally get the spinnaker up.

Nanne (right), sailing pal from back in our student days and fellow Fastnet/Round Britain & Ireland enthusiast and Erwin, more recent acquaintance resulting from our respective professional activities prepare the spi (with the #3 in the background having been assembled again after last year's blow out)...

... and there she is, happily pulling Struana along in a breeze which never quite did what it was supposed to do according to Nanne's theories, but we got back home again fine after a gentle beat out of IJmuiden, past the myriad of parked vessels, most presumably waiting for work.

This is great!
